Valley Iron receives material from both domestic and foreign mill sources, all arriving at our facilities with Material Test Reports (MTRs). The MTR Heat Numbers are verified with the mill stencil on the material, then manually transferred to specific locations on the material. The MTRs are scanned and logged into our state-of-the-art digital system where they can be accessed at any time. The material is then stored in stock with the Heat Number displayed for easy tracking. When the metal is processed, the Heat Number is transferred to the remnant piece for traceability throughout each processing phase.  When an order is pulled, the Heat number is recorded and the corresponding MTR is printed and attached to the delivery receipt for shipment. The Valley Iron system has been perfected over the years, ensuring reliable traceability after processing and shipping.
