Assistant Night Crew Supervisor
Position Summary
Valley Iron is looking for an experienced Assistant Night Crew Supervisor to help lead our night warehouse operations. This hands-on leadership role supports the Night Crew Supervisor by coordinating workflow, assisting with truck routing, supporting drivers and the sales team, and ensuring orders are accurately prepared and loaded for next-day deliveries.
The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, knowledgeable in steel distribution, and thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a safe and efficient operation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage nightly workflow by assigning and adjusting work based on operational needs.
- Assist with truck routing and make route changes based on customer location, material type, load weight, and delivery stops.
- Answer calls and assist the sales team with customer needs and order support.
- Support drivers returning from deliveries by resolving incomplete deliveries and addressing concerns.
- Assist the Dispatcher after office hours by printing orders for the next shipping day that have not been assigned to a load.
- Help finalize delivery routes to maximize efficiency.
- Load trucks, verify load accuracy, and inspect completed loads.
- Identify and organize material remaining on warehouse racks after loading.
- Serve as acting Night Crew Supervisor during absences.
- Promote a safe, organized, and productive warehouse environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of steel distribution experience (Valley Iron experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other metal products.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance and dependability.
- Moderate computer proficiency.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to lead, coach, and work effectively with others.
This position regularly requires the ability to:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, twist, push, pull, and stack materials.
- Climb in and out of semi-trucks.
- Mount and dismount forklifts.

Night Crew Loader – Fresno
Job Summary:
The primary duties of a Night Crew Yard Worker include, but are not limited to, pulling and staging orders for delivery trucks. A Night Crew Yard Worker will handle all our products. All work will be completed safely and accurately with the customer and companies’ best interests in mind.
Essential Functions:
- Accurately pull material for delivery.
- To complete the delivery orders, a night crew employee will be required to use a forklift, overhead crane, propane torch, chop saw, tape measure, caliper, and a bander.
- The Yard Worker will gather all carbon, aluminum, or stainless-steel then will bundle the material and stage it on the designated delivery rack.
- When pulling is completed the employee will load the orders onto a bobtail or flatbed trailer from a load list.
- Comply with all safety guidelines.
- Wrap/package all material.
- General yard clean up.
- Maintain equipment with daily checklists.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum Education Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum Experience Preferred: 1 year forklift experience.
- Skills Required:
- Read/Write English Language.
- Forklift, overhead crane, propane torch.
- Be able to measure using Caliper/tape measurer.

Will Call Operator - Forklift Driver
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail oriented Will Call Operator to join our Oroville warehouse team. The primary duties of a Will Call Operator include, but are not limited to, preparing will call orders, stocking material, and loading delivery trucks. A Will Call Operator will handle all our products. A Will Call Operator must always provide excellent customer service to all Valley Iron Customers.
Essential Functions:
· Fill order from sales team or from walk-in customer.
· Fill customer order as requested in a safely manner.
· Always communicate with the customer.
· Pull stock as needed.
· Rotate jobs frequently.
· Take all call-in orders in a timely manner.
· Handle customers that come to pick up material, wrap stage and file tags.
· Will use a propane torch to cut various types of material and an overhead crane.
· Always communicate with customer/sales team/supervisor.
· Be assertive with customers at all times.
· May be required to sweep, do general yard or equipment clean-up.
· Will operate a forklift to load and unload vehicles with steel, stainless, or aluminum products.
· All other duties as assigned.
Shift: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- 1. Minimum Education Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum Experience Preferred: 2 years of experience in Forklift/Crane operation.
3. Skills Required:
